Arvind Balkrishna Dani (31 October 1941 – 25 June 2025) was a man whose life was deeply anchored in the timeless cultural and spiritual values of Bharat.
Born in the sacred land of Yeola, Maharashtra, to Balkrishna Dani and Manorama Kasrekar, he emerged from a lineage that believed in karma over comfort, seva over status, and inner richness over material wealth. His life was not a mere sequence of years but a living expression of Sanatan principles—dharma, artha, kama, and ultimately moksha.
From his early years, Arvind ji carried the essence of a disciplined mind and a sattvic heart. As an engineer by profession, he applied not just technical skill, but also deep ethical grounding in every project he undertook. Work, for him, was a form of sadhana—a sacred duty performed with precision, honesty, and humility. But beyond the boundaries of his profession, he was a beacon of Indian wisdom, embodying the shanti (peace) and karuna (compassion) that our scriptures speak of.
A firm believer in the Gita’s doctrine of nishkam karma—selfless action—he lived each day with mindful detachment and unwavering inner resolve. He never sought attention or applause, but rather chose the quiet path of right conduct, of fulfilling one’s responsibilities with dignity and grace. In this way, he became a guiding light not only to his family but to his entire community.
In his household, Arvind ji was the embodiment of the ideal grihastha—nurturing his family not just with love, but with sanskaras (values). He treated his wife, Neela Dani, with the same reverence as prescribed in the ancient texts, honoring the sacred companionship (ardhangini) that binds two souls in the journey of life. He raised three children not through instruction, but through example—instilling in them the importance of truthfulness, simplicity, self-discipline, and reverence for all life.
His daily routine reflected an inner rhythm attuned to nature and dharma. From offering water to the rising sun to his deep reflections on scriptures, from observing silence to planting and nurturing trees, each act was a prayer, each breath a meditation. He believed that one’s home should be a mandir of values—clean, orderly, peaceful, and welcoming to all.
To his grandchildren and younger generations, he passed down not just stories but timeless insights drawn from the Vedas, Puranas, and lived experience. He carried within him the memory of an India rooted in wisdom and restraint, and his life stood as a bridge between ancient ideals and modern existence.
Even in his final days, Arvind ji remained inwardly centered and outwardly composed. With clarity and calm, he prepared for the inevitable transition, viewing death not as an end but as a sacred passage to the next realm—a return to the cosmic source.
His cremation will take place on 25th June 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Subhash Nagar Crematorium in Bhopal, in accordance with sacred traditions. Friends, family, and all who were touched by his life are invited to join in this final homage—a samskara that marks the culmination of a noble and dharmic journey.
In remembering Arvind Balkrishna Dani, we do not merely recall a man—we recall a way of being. A life lived with purpose, purity, and profound cultural depth. He was, and will remain, an inspiration for those who seek to live with inner clarity, quiet strength, and spiritual alignment.
Om Shanti. Shubha Yatra.
